Overview

Both the U10 Co-Ed and Girls divisions hold a post-season, single-elimination tournament. The tournament begins the week following the final regular-season games.

Tournament Setup

• The number of brackets depends on how many teams are in the division.

• Teams are seeded based on regular-season standings.

• Preliminary, quarterfinal, and semifinal games are typically played during the week.

• Championship games are scheduled for Saturday morning.

Tournament Rules

• All standard league rules apply unless noted below.

• Because the tournament is single-elimination, every game must have a winner.

• If the score is tied at the end of regulation:

  1. Teams will play up to two 5-minute extra-time periods using Golden Goal rules (first team to score wins).

  2. If neither team scores in extra time, the game will be decided by penalty kicks:

     • Each team takes three kicks (best-of-three).

     • If still tied, teams alternate kicks in sudden death until one team scores and the other does not.

     • The first team to gain the advantage in sudden death is declared the winner.
